The next meeting of the Search Committee will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 6:00pm in the library. This meeting will focus on development of questions and criteria to be used in evaluating our candidates for vicar.

MINUTES: 7 December 2012
Members Present: Cathy Landis, Bill Hargrove, Zach Landis, Bill Towry, Jeff Ekrey, Mark Deemer, Garry Barnard, and Linda Saxton.
The meeting was called to order with a devotional and prayer. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved with the following corrections to the names of those present: Bill Towrey was present and Charles DeWetter was not; Jeff Ekery’ s name was misspelled.
Survey questions were discussed. It was asked for clarification of the term “Biblical/lectionary based” in question 15 relating to the preferred style of sermons. An option might be “theological interpretation of the lectionary.” In question 19, it was specified that each respondent should list 2 areas where it is felt St. Francis most needs improvement.
Plans are to distribute a paper copy of the survey to any who desire one; otherwise, it will be made available on line through Search Monkey at a cost of $50 for a month’s membership. This service will automatically tally results. Consensus was that this service would be well worth the expense. Each individual member of the parish will be urged to complete a survey by December 18.
Plans are moving forward to host a mission, vision & goals workshop at St. Francis to be directed by Paul Shumaker of Carlsbad, New Mexico during the third week of January.
The final item for discussion was the creation of a parish profile to be posted on our website. Sections required, along with assignments to do the writing are:

Church History - Garry Barnard (Note, we are still looking for a copy of the history of St.
Francis - possibly from the Diocesan library and archives at St. James in Las Cruces.)

Youth Ministry - Zack Landis
Stewardship - Linda Saxton
The Future of St. Francis - Bill Hargrove
Diocese of the Rio Grande - Jeff Ekrey
El Paso - Mark Deemer (to include a demographic survey of the nearest zip codes)
Our New Vicar - (pending survey results)
Internet resources - Cathy Landis
